Biography
Ella Louise Allaire studied flute and piano at Le Conservatoire de Musique du Quebec. As a teenager she receive 1st and 2nd Prizes 2 years in row at Concours du Quebec. Later on, she graduated with honours from the prestigious Schulich School of Music at McGill University and pursued a master degree in composition under the direction of Michel Longtin at University of Montreal. On a private basis, she studied voice with the famous opera singer: Huguette Tourangeau and the renown vocal coach: Lucette Tremblay. Ella Louise received additional education at Music Camp Orford, Music Camp Lanaudiere, Phil Mattson Vocal Jazz Workshop at Michigan University and attended the Actors Studio Workshops under John Strasberg and Warren Robertson.
Ella Louise has an eclectic musical background from classical to jazz, world music and electronica. As a high profile composer and arranger, she has written music for The Beijing Acrobatic Troupe of China (2010); Cirque du Soleil : ALEGRIA (2009); Cirque du Soleil: ZED – Tokyo Disney (2008); Holiday on Ice: ENERGIA (2008); the feature film JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, (2008); The Quebec Symphony Orchestra (2007); Cirque du Soleil: KA – Las Vegas (2004-2005); and released, as a song writer, two albums: MON OR (2004) and HERETIQUE(1999).
Her music has been heard on many international productions including: The “2010 Winter Olympic Games", "Philippe Noiret Gentleman Satimbanque", "The Scorpion King 2", "Avatar Trailer", “Dateline NBC”, “Hillary Clinton Democratic Campaign”, “NFL Films” and the video game “Spiderman – Shattered Dimensions.”
Her association with Cirque du Soleil began in 2004 when composer Rene Dupere commissioned Ella Louise to work on the choir arrangements and vocal coaching for the gigantic multi-media show KA at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas. The following year, Time Magazine voted the KA soundtrack: “The year’s best new score 2005.” Moreover, the KA soundtrack was on the Billboard charts for over 56 weeks with a top 5 for the year ending 2006. Ella Louise collaboration with Cirque du Soleil includes as well the following productions: FINA Open Water Championship (2005); ZED soundtrack production (2009);
