Scene Breakdown
Pre‐Show: Ein and Stein find the Light Balls:
Ein and Stein are curiously looking for something in the audience. They find what they think they are looking for in the centre of the ice – two glowing Light Balls. What are they? And, how to get to them? They clumsily find their way to them with skates on and discover they have a power they cannot control at all. In fact, they create a massive explosion in the Universe…..our story continues!

Act 1: Supernova: Transformation
In the beginning, Ein and Stein have created a Supernova explosion or Big Bang effect of scintillating colourful lights and particles in the depths of outer space, creating … the Planets. This transformative explosion is performed by the dynamic and powerful display of athletic skating prowess from our Principals who set our discovery for light energy into action.

Earth: Awakening
Out of the Supernova, the soft and gentle Earth was created. Mother Earth and her five elements, Air, Water, Fire, Earth and Metal show us the awakening of a new dawn of light energy on the planet. Ein and Stein watch on with keen fascination as they are mesmerized by what Mother Earth may be able to show us about the discoveries of light.

Birth: Curiosity, Openness
Ein and Stein witness the mythical birth of creation as they watch a Golden Swan emerge from her globe of light and meet up with her fellow male Swans. Naga, the serpent king arrives on the scene with his female serpents only to disrupt this joyous gathering of swans. First, there is an uncomfortable meeting as the swans meet the serpents, but curiosity and openness gathers momentum and brings them together in light energy and harmony. In the end, a sensitive coming together leaves us with the transformation of the Golden Swan and Naga to human form.

Ein and Stein get Curious
Fascinated by Birth, Ein and Stein find a long red ribbon and wonder what must this be and what can it be used for? After some discoveries they use it to play, make a dress and reenact the pas de deux of the Golden Swan and Naga. A new energy is emerging - Water.

Neptune’s Underworld…. Playful Sensuality
The Planet Neptune of the Universe gives the God of the Underwater, Neptune the magical light source to enlighten his world under the sea. Neptune arrives in his chariot like a Rhythm and Blues Rock Star and skates up an underwater storm of excitement and sensuality along with his multi‐coloured fish and algae. His mermaid daughters arrive with their Mermen boyfriends wanting to marry. He is not amused. They take no notice. In the end he gives his approval and blesses them with light energy, while Ein and Stein enthusiastically discover this magical underwater world.

Ein and Stein Reflect
Ein and Stein reflect upon the amusement of their underwater discoveries amongst the fish. They sense a change in the temperature and environment. What is happening? Why is it getting so hot? Aha…It is fire!

Mars ….. Courage
Ein and Stein enter the land of courage and fire – Mars. They are immediately confronted by the Fire Goddess who takes a liking to Stein, but frightens Ein. The Gladiators of Mars perform their dynamic prowess and strength to the surprise of Ein and Stein. The beautiful Mars Goddess enters and acknowledges her gladiators for their brilliance and proceeds to skate a sensitive and powerful solo. The Fire Goddess appears as a giant on stilts with the Gladiators. She seduces Stein to jump through hoops of fire to proof his courage and strength. He agrees. Ein is frightened. In the end, the Mars goddess anoints them all with light energy and offers Stein a gift of Light.

Ein and Stein discover Focus!
Ein congratulates Stein but feels saddened that he is not courageous. Stein, notices and gives him the light energy which gives Ein focus and strength to perform feats of strength.

Venus …. Love
The magical shaman of the universe discovers Stein holding his lost Light Energy Ball. He takes it back. He invites them to watch as he weaves us into a mystical trance‐like love story. He brings together four groups of animals plus a majestic and handsome horse from four corners of the world. Venus appears and falls in love with the horse and the shaman sees this love. He magically transforms the horse into a human and brings them together in the fullness of love… their love, in the end, produces loveable zebras.

End of Act 1

Ein and Stein Discover the Universe
As Astronomers, Ein and Stein become very interested in the universe, the stars as well as the Moon and Sun. What is this universe? What energy does it give to you? Let’s Discover, it is so much Fun!

Constellations – Beauty and Femininity
From above the ice universe, Ein and Stein watch the sensitive and scintillating femininity of the stars. Ah, the Moon is also their showing her feminine nature and energy of attraction.

Moon and Sun Tango Seduction
Dawn of the day begins to appear and the seductive, playful youthfulness of the Sun shows his radiance to the Moon and Stars. The Moon and Sun tango for dominance as night turns into day. As we know, the Moon succumbs to the heat of the Sun.

Planet Salsa – Connection
Ein and Stein descend from above the ice universe and land on Planet Salsa. The fellini‐esque carnival atmosphere they arrive in, excites their curiosity. They join in the festivities of fun and frivolity with characters from different planets who come together once a year to connect by dancing the salsa.

Ein and Stein Find Harmony
Ein and Stein tired from the frivolity of partying and connecting in the salsa, encounter Ajna, a Priestess, the epitome of harmony and wisdom.

Ajna – Wisdom, Harmony, Balance
Ein and Stein watch the ensuing battle between yin and yang, white and black, male and female as the members of the Ajna Monastery search for harmony. They learn from Ajna that our light energy is a combination of yin and yang and harmony can be reached through this wisdom of realization.

Peace – Consciousness
Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated once a year. Our finale, is a Bollywood-esque festive celebration of our light energies. Ein and Stein come to the realization, through their ongoing discoveries of the universe, to find peace and harmony with yourself and others, you want to connect to the Light Energy.

Energia – Connection, Togetherness
Holiday on Ice’s grand finale is our beautiful theme song which culminates the universe journey of discovery of Ein and Stein. Light energy is all around us and within us everywhere. Connect.

Quote of the Week

The Mind

'One's own thought is one's world. What a person thinks is what he becomes - That is the eternal mystery.'  Maitri Upanishad

Aha Reflection

'Look within yourself, for all the answers lie within you'

I do not know the sayer of this quote even though I sense I have seen this in many places. It is also sitting as a plaque on a park bench on the English Bay Seawall facing the lovely ocean. Go find it and sit their and contemplate as you look out in the Bay.  HMMM.

The Prophet

'Madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results,'  Albert Einstein
Do you do this?  Just think about it.  I can own up to the fact that I have come to realize I do sometimes.  Not to stop it and look for new opportunities out of the same old. :)))

'Work is Love made Visible', Kahil Gibran, The Prophet

I am just rereading this classic, The Prophet, how beautiful it is. A delightful look at the true essence of life.

‘You set a good example through your listening skills and you inspire others with to challenge their creative strengths.  I know these are some of the qualities which I see you bringing out in me.
You have many leadership skills which I'm sure allowed you to create 'Energia'.  Your concern for the 'well-being' of those who you teach and your ability to inspire people around you to be the best they can be are both credits to your "Unique Ability".’
Ian Mellor, CFP Senior Financial Planner, Assante Financial Management, Vancouver, Canada

‘He understood the project from the very beginning and gave me all the solutions the same days. Unique!‘
Marcelo Molinari, Costa del Sol Convention Bureau, Malaga, Spain

‘In the growing curve of a company there is the need to stop, reflect and answer to some basic questions like - what is your business all about, where are you going, what is the vision, how are you achieving your vision. Kevin is a great coach to help you on that process of redefining the basics and reshape the path for a solid growth of an institution.
We have been very successful integrating the team in redefining the essence of the company and Kevin brought that spirit to tlc. Definitely a must do to any organization.’
Diogo Assis, Managing Director, TLC – Events in Portugal

‘Professionalism. Your presentations combine business imperatives with life balance. Great creativity in the use of adult learning techniques (not a one way communication, interaction is always there).’
Didier Scalliet, MPI Europe, VP of Global Development, Luxembourg

‘It has been my experience that communication within a creative group of individuals can be a stressful, ego centered and emotionally draining event. Kevin has the ability to tame the frustrated ego and make every member of the team feel empowered to rise above personal limitations to a common goal.‘
Simone Alexander, Choreographer, Denver, Colorado

‘Always pleasant to work with and remains calm when others don’t.
Deals with everyone on a personal level and encourages people to exceed their boundaries. The sky is the limit. Never settles for less, Demanding of himself and others, Sincere, Humane, Always helpful, Compliments hard work, Open to discussion, Gentle.’
Jayne Hamelink, Casting Director, Holiday on Ice, Holland

‘As a facilitator you strive to try on different techniques and are more than wiling to learn from others. You see partnership always as an opportunity, never as a competition. You almost never say no but rather remain open minded to techniques and approaches all the while bringing many other creative ideas. You like to start with the big picture in mind and that makes you stronger I think in the end, cause while you go deep, you never seem to lose the bigger picture.‘
Janet Logan, Facilitator/Coach, Toronto, Canada

‘I think the biggest thing about you is that you get people to see the opportunities and challenges in front of them in a different way. Your challenge to me to ‘walk through that door and step into that room’, has stuck with me. I visualize that and it has made my thoughts and ideas land much more effectively with me’.
Bill Baker, Chief Strategic Officer, Envisioning + Storytelling, Vancouver, Canada
