Origins
When I was approached to submit a creative proposal to Holiday on Ice for a new production, I was uncertain if I wanted to put aside my coaching practice for a good six to eight months. I thought deep and hard about this. I had left skating production and production of any form and I thought, what would be my reason for returning?
When I finally decided to undertake the task I was so excited. Why? Because I thought how wonderful would it be to utilize all the work I was doing in coaching, facilitating and team development and connect it to a creative production. How cool could this be to get curious, creative and get my hands good and dirty in a real production again?
In our business of coaching it is rare that we actually put ourselves on the front line, we are normally in the background and playing the role of the catalyst. By doing so I was able to put into action empowering leaders, individuals, teams and growing potential. I even created the concept from the work I do in Energy Management. My motto was that Energia was a learning space for life. I set intentions and outcomes for myself while keeping everyone on schedule.
In the end, I was excited and honoured that I was able to be involved in creating a team of performers and production staff who were a family, empowered, positive and found creative solutions to sometimes complex situations. They have learned to connect to themselves, others and their audiences.
